A winner declared! We’ve found the perfect physique, though the search continues! (What?) This week, Donovan and I recap episode #5 through the finale of Physical: 100 – Underground. Has a heart-pounding ending sustained our enthusiasm for the show despite a rocky, even controversial sophomore season?

I not sure this is in your wheel-house, but Netflix just dropped Culinary Class Wars which is a mash-up of Iron Chef and Physical 100 only more sexist. I’d love to read/hear your thoughts if you check it out.

Oh, wow, I wonder if the “100” thing is gonna be a standard format going forward. It’s kind of a headache already. But I just watched the trailer for this and it does look interesting. I’m curious to see how the sexism is gonna look outside the context of physical competition. Probably, regular

I’m only through 2 episodes into this week’s drop, and I was probably being hyperbolic about the sexism, but I think it is true that there are fewer women in the initial 100 compared to both seasons of P100 which seems very odd since, you know, it’s cooking. But that weirdness is equally true in the West: cooking in the home is traditionally women’s role, but we traditionally only wanted to pay for the food of male chefs?
However on the plus side, the editing and the staging on the monstrously huge sets is VERY P100. The first elimination is brutal, but I think it’s better designed than most of the tasks in P100. I think you’ll enjoy it.
